A long story

So, a few months ago, Skylar got RSV (A pretty bad, but not serious respiratory virus). It took a month to figure out what she had, so she was hacking a lung for a month! It was awful. We had lots of frustration and sleepless nights with me sitting up holding her while she tried to sleep.

That finally got better apparently, but she has pretty much not stopped coughing. I have taken her to the doctor multiple times since the RSV, and nothing. Now, they say maybe asthma. WHAT? Nobody in our family has asthma, she has never been around smoke. No pets. No harsh chemicals...nothing. Pure craziness.

With some helpful info. from a friend, I think I have figured it all out. RSV can weaken lungs for several weeks after it is gone. So...that lead to respiratory issues temporarily for her- I think. But, I am a bit frustrated because I feel like the doctors could have helped this not be so bad. So, now I am turning other ways- herbal meds., home remedies, food...anything ELSE I can do to help her besides go to the doctor. If anyone has advice, I am open. I just want my baby to stop coughing, get off the nighttime cough medicine, and be able to run again and play like normal.

So that website you gave me is incredibly scary. Hope gone all wrong!

I'm sorry to hear about Skylar. When I had my chest tube, they wanted me to do lots of deep breathing. Even things like sitting in the bathroom with the shower going to get air moving through my lungs. Both make you cough hard, but it seemed to get things moving in my lungs. I'm not sure how you do that with the under 2 crowd. Just a suggestion.

Hope you're well.
