Movers and shakers

It wasn't too long ago my baby looked like this.

Now she is mobile. I thought she would never crawl, and she is. Skylar has always hated being on her tummy. She gets so frustrated with it that she can't learn and take the time it needs to figure out how to move. She never scooted, nudged, hunched or any of those typical things. She pulls up, and walks really well holding onto things, but I guess she just decided she was tired of not being able to get where she wanted to go. All that has changed.

Last week I told Andrew I didn't think she would ever crawl...about an hour later, she did it. Since then she has been a much happier baby, she has some independence and she is loving it. A video will come soon.

Snow

We all got a little of it, but did we all look this cute in it? :)

This is not Skylar's first snow, we had snow over Christmas in Washington, but this is Skylar's first snow at home. And it is her first time in the snow.

My First Christmas

Skylar's Christmas was a blast! While most kids might enjoy their gifts a lot, Skylar mostly enjoyed ripping the paper off the gifts and then pulling it apart until it was too small to rip anymore.

And, staying true to her kid loving spirit, she also enjoyed playing with her cousins Naomi and Jordan.

She was around some little dogs while we were in Spokane and she squealed at the top of her lungs every time they came around. She couldn't really play with them though because she would only try to rip out their fur the same way she ripped the paper, and I don't think they would like that. She had a few other firsts while we were there:

She saw her first snow, and ate her first snow. (Yes, we stayed away from the yellow snow).

She also learned how to catch and throw a ball. I know, it sounds like a lot for an almost 9 month old, but it is true. She learns fast.

She is an excellent clapper now too.

Christmas was wonderful, we are only sad thats its over so fast. Thank you everyone for your parts in making Skylars first Christmas so great.
